One of my plans for this year was to draw the adult version of Naruto Uzumaki as a pro-wrestler in time for his fictional birthday last October 10. Obviously, the plan got scrapped. Still, I pushed through with the piece, and now it’s time to present it before the year ends.
This isn’t the first time I’ve drawn Naruto, but I wanted this to make up for my past portrait of Naruto which, by my current standards, doesn’t measure up already.
When I originally conceived this piece, I wanted Naruto to be standing in his corner in the pro-wrestling while streamers fall under him, as a sort of recognition for the character’s legendary status in anime & manga. Eventually, I gave the streamers to Goro Shigeno instead for a different concept, but I thought it’d still be nice to draw Naruto in that corner, with a confident look before he begins his match akin to that of an experienced ring veteran.
I opted to include his new title “The Seventh Hokage” because that’s what the character is known for these days. In a way, this is also where I’m basing that vibe of him being an experienced veteran. After all, he wouldn’t be Hokage if he didn’t know what he’s doing. Also, I think it’d sound good if the ring announcer would introduce him as that.

Luipunker91 of Deviantart recently began commissioning 09tuf for some pieces for a planned Naruto vs Kiba wrestling illustration series. Among the pieces he commissioned was a revival of 09tuf’s 2013 illustration of the full nelson between Naruto and Kiba. The difference was that back then, the characters were in their teenage stage, whereas now the characters are adults. Since the series isn’t released yet, and since I was the one who colored the original line art back then, I figured it’d be great to color this new piece as well.
For those who are not aware, the Kiba in this piece is actually a more original version of the adult Kiba. Credits go to Luipunker for conceptualizing the piece.
To really emphasize the comparison, I also decided to use the original background I used for my previous colored version.
I hope you enjoy this piece, which is pretty much a teaser of what’s to come in Luipunker’s commissioned pieces.

I’ve always liked the idea of turning Kiba Inuzuka as a pro-wrestler. And apparently, some other people do as well. As a result, we’ve have a good number of fan art in the past few years featuring Kiba in pro-wrestling gear.
One of those artworks is the one made by 09tuf, as commissioned by DeviantArt member Luipunker. The original piece was good, and I liked how the costume design in that piece looked better than how I drew Kiba back in 2015.
Not too long ago, Luipunker said that I could recolor the piece if I wanted to. And so I did. Compared to past drawings, this design had more red colors in it, which seems to fit well with Kiba.
At some point, I may let Kiba wrestle further with this gear on. For now, I hope you enjoyed this piece.

One of 09tuf‘s old lineart drawings that never got colored was “Full nelson no jutsu”. This was a drawing of Naruto giving Kiba a Full Nelson, which appears to be the artist’s favorite wrestling move. I thought it was a very good drawing. As such, I thought it was a shame that it never got colored…yet. That’s why I started coloring it myself. And now that I have 09tuf’s permission, I can finally publish this piece here.
I think Naruto vs. Kiba is a very interesting rivalry. In the future, I do plan on making my own pro-wrestling drawing for this feud. I might even let Kiba finally get revenge to Naruto as a response to this piece.
For now, I hope you’ll enjoy the new life that I’ve given to this old piece. And don’t forget to give 09tuf credit for the original work.

Early this month, DeviantArt user Ares-the-war-god responded to my blog post about feedback on my works. As promised, I would give him feedback for doing so. Although I had already given him some DeviantArt points, I planned on giving another reward. And thus, this piece was made.
He, along with others, suggested that I draw Kiba and Naruto fighting each other in a wrestling match. Anyway, in canon, it makes some sense since they were rivals in the early part of the series. Their dynamic is also pretty interesting as well, so that match may be illustrated at some point next year.
For now, I decided to Kiba Inuzuka as a pro-wrestler. I opted to let Kiba wear pro-wrestling trunks instead of the long tights that I often use with other characters. It’s mainly because I did the same thing with my Naruto vs. Sasuke piece last month. Besides, this is intended mainly as a gift, and I think this would have been the receiver’s preference anyway. He does look pretty cool in the gear, doesn’t he?

I’ve been planning to draw a Naruto vs. Sasuke wrestling fan art for a very long time already. Considering how popular this rivalry is, I felt that I should at least try drawing it for once. However, I couldn’t find time to do so. Then, the Naruto fan art contest came out on Pixiv, making it the perfect opportunity for me to finally create this piece.
For this piece, I drew Naruto applying a Cobra Twist (Abdominal Stretch) on Sasuke. I had other moves in mind, but since this was intended for a contest, I thought that if I was going to feature a pro-wrestling move, I might as well use a move that really shouts “pro-wrestling”. I believe the Cobra Twist does that, since it seems to be the most popular pro-wrestling move in Japan.
Oh, and why is Naruto the winner here? Sasuke defeated him in other fan art, so why not let Naruto be victorious here. Plus, this was also my belated tribute to Naruto for his fictional birthday last October 10.

NARUTO is a series that could definitely be considered as a hallmark of my generation. I’m not a big fan of the series, but I did get to have a glimpse of what it’s about, and I can see how much fans it has through the years. As the series is about to end after 15 years in publication, I decided to give the manga my own tribute to acknowledge its legendary status.
This plan became even more definite after reading some of the latest chapters of the series, which actually got me a bit emotional even if I haven’t really read the series a lot.
When I made this piece, I used legendary Japanese pro-wrestler Kenta Kobashi as a reference for Naruto’s pose. I was somewhat imagining Naruto Uzumaki having a retirement ceremony similar to that of Kobashi. Maybe it’s because Kobashi’s ceremony was filled with orange streamers, which is the color that is also symbolic of Naruto. I guess Kobashi’s fighting spirit in the ring and generally cheerful demeanor also played a role here.
The design for the championship belt, if you’re interested, was actually based on the one used in a wrestling-themed cover page of Shonen Jump back in 2012.
In this piece, I decided to expand a bit on my “King of Pro-Wrestling” trading card game parody. This time, I renamed it as “King of Manga Pro-Wrestling”. I am considering doing this parody series for other future artworks.
Congratulations to Masashi Kishimoto for 15 years of Naruto. I wish you the best in your future works.
