As a freelance wrestler, fighter, and trainer, Carlos Zamora seriously kicks ass. And as “El Guapo”, he’s got the body and the looks to back it up. Having said that, imagine my surprise when one day he contacted me about possibly doing a t-shirt design for him. That begins the story of this piece.
I first knew about Carlos Zamora back when he wrestled for a PWR show back in early 2019. He is based in Denmark, but he has some Filipino blood with him. Later on, I checked him out even further, and was left impressed by his athleticism. (And admittedly, the fact that “El Guapo”, as he calls himself, is really el guapo. Hahaha. 😀 )
Not long after, a surprise popped in my Instagram. El Guapo messaged me, little ol’ El Ordinario. 😀 He said he was coming back to the Philippines earlier this year and he asked if I can do a design for his homecoming. It was a surprise, since I never did something like that before. Since I was curious on how it would turn out, I decided to go for it.
The design for this piece is largely based on one of his studio poses as the reigning Dansk Pro Wrestling (DPW) Heavyweight Champion. A few modifications were made to reflect his current ring gear and the necklaces he often wears in his entrance. The diamond shape represents the pro-wrestling ring, but this was really just added as my way of making the design fit for a t-shirt.
The t-shirt eventually did materialize. It was featured and sold in his comeback show in the Philippines, PWR Mabuhay ang Wrestling, which was held last January 2020. Sadly, I couldn’t go to the show due to distance. However, I got to see Carlos Zamora and other guys wearing the shirt via Instagram.
It was amazing to see. The t-shirt really had my design. Just….wow.
And for what it’s worth, Carlos Zamora once again kicked ass in that show. Many even called his match with Mike Madrigal as the match of the night.
Anyway, I’m glad you enjoyed the design, El Guapo. And I hope you guys enjoyed this piece.

A few ago, I came across a picture of a young Spanish wrestler battling it out in the ring while wearing Spiderman-inspired gear. It really caught my attention, since the superhero design came across nicely, and it felt like it was really Peter Parker who was wrestling. So I went on to know more about the wrestler and watched a few of his matches. Eventually I asked him if I could draw him one day. Little did I know that the wrestler known as A-Kid would soon rise up and be on track to becoming “the most talked about Jr Heavyweight in the world” in the next few years, as stated by NJPW pro-wrestler Will Ospreay himself.
As such, I decided to make this piece in time for his birthday, though it’s slightly belated already. I originally wanted to draw him in his Spiderman gear during his younger years, but with him becoming a rising star in pro-wrestling, I thought it’d be more appropriate to acknowledge his current look instead. (I still plan on doing the Spiderman drawing, though.)
The background is largely based on the La Triple W (White Wolf Wrestling) venue, which is often seen in YouTube videos featuring A-Kid’s matches.
Here’s to hoping to see more of A-Kid in the future. Espero que lo hayan disfrutado el dibujo.
