Extra Notes

I consider Kazuchika Okada as the champion of my generation. He’s only 3 years older than me, and yet he is now on track to become the longest reigning IWGP Heavyweight Champion in history. And he can definitely back it up, with his amazing Dropkick and his breathtaking Rainmaker lariat move. That’s why he’s also one of my favorite pro-wrestlers.

In the past, I paid tribute to him by assigning his Rainmaker persona to Jean Kirstein of the “Attack on Titan” manga and anime series. At the end of the day, though, it seemed more like a Jean tribute than an Okada tribute, so I thought I’d draw Okada myself in the future.

Fortunately, that day came with Okada’s 30th birthday. Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough time to make a more complete tribute, since I just came off from the months-long Goro vs. Toshi pro-wrestling series. Still, I’m glad I was able to make this piece, and I hope you guys like it.

And for the Rainmaker, I hope you also enjoyed this Okada-san.
